We arrived in the modern city of Palenque last night around 5 after a long 9 hour bus ride. It was the longest of the trip and we made it. We are far removed from the Northern Yucatan and find ourselves far south in the jungle.

Thanks so much for the pics of the stone construction/architecture! Esp. the close-ups. That’s what I am so most interested in (NINE HOURS on a middle America bus???!!! Hope it was worth it?)….. And, also…..for the swan-sculpture-towels. That, for sure, is a skill I need to learn…maybe for post retirement employment in my “second career.” You think I joke? NOT!
The bus rides are long but there is continuous stream of feature movies. I am learning Spanish. They are air conditioned, clean and comfortable….no chicken buses…yet
I liked all the Photos, seems that the construction of the pyramids follows the same design.
Thaler you for great pics! BB
