Two Day Special

We have reached Conque. The entire town is a UNESCO museum. We are beat and need to spend our rest day here. We are one day ahead of schedule and need foot rest. This is the perfect place. We have checked into the Abbey. Peggy is already taking a nap.

Most of our pilgrim companions are here also. I need to spend some time explaining the adventures of the last two days but I want to find a wifi connection and update. That will take some time writing this evening after Vespers and Dinner in the Abbey.

Having a beer with a good wifi connection. I will upload pictures now.

  1. It was great to have Jen here. Sat. we went to see if any flowers were still blowing at Red Hill. Just the little yellow one but Jen hiked some of the trails and I had a book but watched the people with their horses arriving in trailers and going out on the trails instead. We also went to the college and walked around the pond. Jen helped with the coffee hour, was introduced to many, many, people who told me later how adorable she is. Glad she sent you some pictures. Glad you are resting some today!

  2. Reading Wiki about Conque, it looks like you will see some exciting treasures: Charlemagne’s “A”, the actual arm of St. George who slew the dragon, and the skull of St. Foy. I’m still smiling about the Monk who went under cover in Agen for ten years so he could successfully steal the relic and thus insure Pilgrims would pass through Conque.
